Birthday Bashes!
My birthday was just perfect.
Thank you, Kent. You have made every dream I have ever had come true: Wife, Corvette Owner, Mom.
You quietly tolerate my madness, my modness, my whimsy, my flair. I wear the bling, but you're the one who shines. Thank you for your love, for your selflessness, for all the sacrifices you make for our family. Thanks for being my calm retreat in this mad crazy world. I love you more than you know. Betcha didn't know having a Trophy Wife would be such hard work, did ya? (wink, wink). Love you baby and THANK YOU!!!!!
Started out by having lunch with one of my besties - Christina. Can't beat good friends, mexican food, sangria swirl and green apple jelly bellies. Thanks Christina for making my birthday so special.
That night I celebrated with Kent and our kiddos. There was lots o'love, hugs and fun. And mexican food of course! ;-)
Check out my loot! Do my friends have the most amazing taste or what??? And this was all before my party!!!
The next stop was the Belmont Hotel on Saturday. Check out this cake!!!! PERFECT. Just perfect.
All me.
All chocolate.
My friends ROCK!
(Sorry you're not all on here. It has taken me 40 minutes to get these pictures where I wanted. Grr!)You quietly tolerate my madness, my modness, my whimsy, my flair. Soccer Peeps and Pulling Teeth!
The twins received their soccer uniforms in the mail yesterday and could not wait to try them on.
Do these numbers mean anything to you? Yes, I have this strange sense of humor. It's their birthday!

Do these numbers mean anything to you? Yes, I have this strange sense of humor. It's their birthday!See this gorgeous smile? It won't be like this for long! I think Cason is the only child in his class that has yet to lose a tooth. In fact, he has one coming in behind it. I always loved his smile because he didn't have any gaps in his teeth but I've learned that gaps are a good thing. I see a large orthodontics bill in our future.
Daddy attempting to pull Cason's tooth. Some things are just meant for the boys.
This girl is so stinking silly and fun. Bella Bug wearing Daddy's readers.

School's in Session!
It was a BIT hectic getting three kids' clothes ironed and ready this morning...so hectic, in fact, that I left here with a camera but NO memory card for the twins' first day of pre-K! Thankfully my sweet friend Kristi came through for me....THANK YOU Kristi!!!

Bubba hugs the twins goodbye - without being prompted!

Meet the Teacher
School Bells are a ringin'! We went yesterday to Meet the Teacher!
I told the twins to enjoy the last day of pretty clothes. Beginning tomorrow they're entering the Land of the Uniform!
Here they are with their sweet teacher. They saw her a lot last year because her room was next to Cason's room. So at least they were already familiar. They have at least 2 friends joining them from their days at FMS so they are super excited!
We are very pleased to have Mrs. Austell as Cason's 2nd grade teacher!!! I think he's really going to love her.

Some Decoratin' Goin' On
Since Kent went to Alaska, I've been in major re-nesting mode!
Something about being around creative women inspires me to decorate and create. I was inspired to do this Art Wall by a friend I rediscovered on Facebook that I went to junior high and high school with. She has amazing style and creativity. She has her daughter's artwork displayed on a wall in their home. I loved it! It seemed so natural for us since Cason is an artist and the twins are following in his footsteps. I love having a place to display it, and the kids love seeing their masterpieces on display.

I have FOREVER longed for white slipcovered furniture, but thought it so impractial with 3 kids and a dog in the house. Well, once again, Alicia inspired me! Out with the predicatable and in with all white slipcovered furniture: slipcovered sofa and 2 slipcovered chairs. Kent has been so patient in letting me renest. Just another reason I love him.
I got a sewing machine for my birthday 3 years ago. The following summer I purchased my embroidery machine on the internet - knowing nothing about them. It was sure a journey learning to use it, but I love being creative on my timetable. Mom came over last night and taught me the proper way to do piping and trims on pillows. This pillow was the result! The pink damask burnout fabric came from an old bedspread that belonged to my MIL. Since she dosen't share my penchant for PINK, she let me have it. :-)
Anyone who knows me, knows I love pink and zebra (almost equally!), so we had to add some wild to the back side. I love how cozy and fresh our home is becoming. I love, most, that bits and pieces of it were inspired by women in my circle.
Ok, off to paint the mantle, the kitchen table and a new Hollywood Regency chair. Go be bold, beautiful!

It's a Wild & Wacky Summer ~ And We Like It That Way!
We've been busy little bees this hot summer. Here's the latest buzz....
Daddy got to escape the summer heat and head to Alaska where he fly-fished, camped, rafted, hiked, and all other sorts of boy things with 7 other dudes. Here is a pic of the group:
Which one is mine? Why- he's the skinniest, of course! That's what happens when you marry a woman who doesn't cook! He had a ton-o-fun on his well-deserved respite, but we're all glad he's home!

While he was away, his Mom came in and went to work. The woman does not REST I tell you. But she's mad crazy talented and here is proof!
I bought this chest from a friend's mom for $5. Now it's Effie-fabulous! Whoo Hoo!!!
Next she went to work in the kids' bathroom. She painted, distressed and glazed their cabinets.
This motivated me to rip up the GREEN CARPET in there and my mother (who can do anything!) layed the wood floors. It is lovely, lovely, lovely esp. with the new pulls (which aren't installed in this photo).
It wasn't all work and no play. We made a MAD DASH to Jerry World before we took Effie to the airport. How cute is this bunch?
C-Man attended Drama Camp while Dad was away. I'm relying on others for photos as I did video the whole time. Knowing his flair for the dramatic, it's safe to say he aced the performance!
The kids attend Summer Fun two days a week and other than that, we're doing lots of swimming and running kids around in my adorable new car! The twins are fabulous little swimmers now (thanks to their Daddy!)
We headed to CowTown yesterday for a little event at a museum there:
I cain't (work with me here - it's for effect) hardly go to CowTown without visiting my favorite CowTown resident - N-Nance, Embroiderer Extrodinaire! We took a little swim break from the hot summer heat and had some good ol' fashioned fun.
