Two Good Apples

Two good apples I love a whole bunch!
Bella & ZaZa model their new shirts I made them today. I got these embroidered capris at Crewcuts (J Crew for kids) probably 2 years ago thinking that, you know, our 2 year olds would be able to wear size 2's someday. Well, "someday" arrived! With much cinching of the adjustable waists and the "perfect" matching shirt, we have our 2 good apples that we love a whole bunch. Happy Saturday!

Hiking the Canyon

Kent (brave soul that he is) took Zaidee and Cason to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum and then hiking in Palo Duro Canyon. (Have you noticed that I've only done things that involved air conditioning?)

Cason was very impressed with the museum - except the part where the Indians take the buffalo apart, blow up their stomachs and well - that's as far as we've gotten with it. As he was discussing his trip (during dinner, of course) I said, "Boy, aren't you glad you didn't have to slaughter, skin, and clean the pig you're eating?" HA! BTW...we had delicious (and I mean DELICIOUS) pulled pork sandwiches, my BBQ baked beans, and homemade banana pudding for dinner. YUM-O.

I digress.
Here are pix from Palo Duro Canyon.

Let There Be Leopard

Ok it's crazy what one little leopard bow will inspire a girl to do. I did Zaidee's hair this morning and LOVED the colors of this leopard ribbon that Effie pulled out. I thought it looked beautiful in Zaidee's hair and the color of her shirt against her skin color . Well...it called for a photo shoot. Here are my favorite shots of our niece, Zaidee.

I sure miss my photo editing software. I think she would be beautiful in sepia.

Cason is not used to NOT being photographed, so he insisted that I take a picture of him for every picture I took of Zaidee. And, YES he counted. And I'm glad as there were a shortage of pictures of Cason in the world, right?

Here is my very handsome, yet very rotten, son.

Poser. HA!

My favorite.

Bella, well...she's just here for the party.

Going down the slide backwards (still in her jammies).
Life is good at Grandmas.

How many of you want Holly's phone number so you can cuss her out for introducing me to the blah blah blog? HA!

Lovin' it.

Dinos in New Mexico

Here are the precious peeps before Kent & Cason left for the Dino Museum in Tucumcari, New Mexico this morning.

Cason getting cozy with the dead dino

Let's just say I did my part to stimulate the local economy. Deals of the day were found at New York & Company. CUTE pink linen pants for $8. Get yo self there. Quick.

Peace & love from the Panhandle.

TEXAS our TEXAS!

It was a crazy day here in the Panhandle. I slipped out to hobby lobby while the twins napped this afternoon. Twice while I was there the manager came on and announced that the tornado sirens were going off. ALL the customers and employees had to meet in the "safe" room of Hobby Lobby. It was crazy; however, I was comforted by the fact that there were 2 nuns in the room with me. I mean, you never hear of two nuns getting wiped out in a storm. I told the sisters I was glad they were there - that I felt comforted by that. They were really sweet.

Tonight we took Cason, Zaidee and Taylor (nieces) to see the musical of TEXAS in the Palo Duro Canyon. It was very, very neat. I've you've never been, it's worth seeing. There was a couple there from Okinawa, Japan. They took lots of pictures. (ok, only kidding....about the pictures that is)

Cason LOVED the musical. If you are ever out in West Texas, it's worth seeing.
Tomorrow the boys will make their way to New Mexico for some Dinosaur Musuem. Cason will love that, too. I suppose the twins and I will be forced to get out and do some shopping. More tomorrow.
Ciao Bella!

Looks like we made it!

Six hours in the car with the only children in the United States that do NOT sleep a wink in the car. Man what I wouldn't give for a car nap. That ranks up there with full body massages and spa pedicures. They just don't know what they're missing.

So one stop along the way the convenience store clerk told me there was a tornado there on Father's Day. Guess that explains this:

How about those new fancy metal light posts. Can't beat old school. Check out the wooden light post. Yep - it's singing "I'm still standin'....better than I ever did..." to that metal job.

I just loved the juxtaposition of old versus new and the irony that the wooden pole withstood the storm. LOVE that!

Check out my crazy daughter. I remember telling Eva when we first brought her home that she was a CLOWN and man was I right! This is her adorable smile (NOT) when I get out the camera.

Silly girl.

We made it to Grandmother's house so all is right with the world. Now that my entire family is sleeping, I'm going to dig into mother-in-law's stash of decorating books. I always leave here full of ideas. Just one more reason why we make the trip......kids sweet kids and home sweet home.
Sweet Dreams!

Craft Time

I have had this project in my mind for about a month. Decided to go to Hobby Lobby (ah, yes, a little slice of Heaven) and get the stuff to do it today while the kids were at Summer Fun. Glad I got this out of my system. Now I'm off to monogram my new Nick & Nora Flamingo Pajamas. Yes, you read that right - I am monogramming my pajamas. Ah, life is good.

Fun Fotos

Here are some of my favorite pictures from this weekend.

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day Greetings from Cabela's!

Can you believe I didn't have a camera?

I know....GUFFAW! This photo was taken from my Blackberry. At least we have *a* photo. I asked Kent repeatedly yesterday was his version of an ideal Father's Day would be. After like the eigth time, he said he wanted to go to Cabela's. So to Cabela's we went! I'm glad they place benches strategically throughout the place. I just kept thinking, "Hmm...this must be what guys feel like at the mall." One big difference - Kent bought nothing. (mind boggling, I know)

Kent loved both photos we gave him for Father's Day.

Here is the standard issue - the annual picture of Cason in his daddy's Tech baseball shirt. It's amazing to see him grow. I remember the first photo where this looked like a dress on Cason and covered his feet. I look at Cason's shoes now and think "they're not much smaller than mine!" Maybe I can share flip flops with him. At the rate the twin are growing - they may max out at a size 5 shoe!
The next picture is one I surprised Kent with. We went to the Dinosaur Park in Glen Rose in April. I took this picture without Kent knowing. And me (that cannot keep a secret) was able to hide the picture from him and then added a little digi-scrap magic to it (the father quote). He thought at first it was just a generric inspirational picture. Um, not! Helloooo....don't you know your wife is semi-pro photog???? Here is that photo:

I surprised him with an ipod Classic! He was really happy. I wasn't sure if he was going to come up for air after he started playing with it. Thanks, Stew Ro, for the awesome gift idea. He was so impressed with the CD of Father's Day songs that I made for him. I was so impressed with myself that I gave it to him the day I finished it. ha!

Thanks to Holly Bo Bolly for, once again, shaming me into the Techno Age. Hope you enjoy our new little piece of Cyber-Pie.

Hugs & Luvs from Little D.
